As a Installed Base – Project Manager, you will drive initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Responsible for departmental operations planning /execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and managing cross functional, technology led, or product focused programs.

  • Manages budgets and interfaces with contractors, suppliers, customers and internal functions. Manages program resource and budget allocation/integration. Establish and Manage project schedule, budget, and tollgate process for NPI, requisition, or Sustaining programs or on OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) programs. Influences the programs to meet customer CTQs.

  • Includes responsibility of resource estimation and optimize project outcomes. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute projects.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Ability to propose various solutions outside of set parameters to simplify manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions

  • Work independently and possess a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery execution. Expected to work closely with the cross functional teams.

  • Aware of and comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Explains the project deliverables & information with team; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues related to projects.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Physics/Biomedical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of related experience, including project leadership and design responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to technical and program leadership to improve the product, process or technology.

  • Effective communication skills and boundary less behavior—ability to present ideas clearly and concisely

  • Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion and project management.

Essential Skills:

  • Broad exposure to HW (Hardware)/ SW (Software) /Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc.)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare/ medical devices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation

  • Applied knowledge of Lean/Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for Reliability (DFR)

  • Proficient in handling complex data and well aware of the various project management tools
