Provides a broad range of communications functions and services across a unit or units which can be at various levels within the organization. Partners with business leadership to ensures the performance of communications generalist activities.

The Communications Leader for GE HealthCare, Australia & New Zealand is a key member of the business leadership team and the ASEAN, Korea and ANZ (AKA) corporate communications team. The purpose of the role is to enhance and protect GE HealthCare’s brand & reputation as a leading healthcare innovator & technology business; develop & support the employee brand; shape & structure messages (internally & externally); and optimize & execute speaking engagements.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • In partnership with the GE HealthCare ANZ leadership team, leverages the key business priorities to create communication strategies that moves the needle for the zone internally and externally.

  • In conjunction with the Senior Comms Leader for AKA, develops external communication plans to execute multi-channel communications programs that further GE HealthCare’s brand development and positioning across multiple stakeholder groups, including customers, business leaders, media, industry group and governments.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the image and reputation of GE HealthCare is represented positively, protects the brand across all communication channels.

  • Proactively drives an earned media strategy focusing on trade publications and tier 1 media.

  • Builds and executes thought leadership strategies for key leaders of the executive teams (eg. social media, speaking engagements, etc.)

  • Partners with HR to drive internal engagement and affinity across the employee population by clearly communicating the organization’s strategy, priorities and related progress.

  • Serves as a crisis communications point of contact for specific business issues, potentially including cross-GE HealthCare issues.

  • Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to refine, improve and outline the communication plans.

  • Leverages data to enhance and improve strategy and tactics, regularly reports on progress.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field and minimum 5 years' communications experience covering corporate communications, PR, journalism or marketing communications.

  • A track record of influencing and engaging successfully with internal and external stakeholders (thought leaders, key opinion leaders, influencers, press, governments) at the highest levels in a highly regulated, politically sensitive and technical environment.

  • A track record of influencing and engaging successfully with senior internal leaders, driving employee engagement and managing through change.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with ability to simplify complex issues and act quickly with sensitivity to a range of external perspectives.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the business drivers.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills.

  • Clear interest and understanding of current affairs, politics and public opinion and the ability to gauge the effects of these on present and future business plans.

  • Ability to work in a complex business matrix, meeting the needs of both the P&L and the Corporate Marketing and Communications Function

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

  • Experience in Communications & Communications Business Partnering required.
