GE Healthcare Tax Manager in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Description Summary

The Canada Tax manager role is primarily responsible for wing-to-wing tax processes for Canada Legal Entities, which includes direct and indirect tax compliance, preparation and filing of country tax returns and management of CIT audits. In addition, this role will provide commercial support, tax accounting support, tax technical analysis, policy interpretation and support with transaction execution.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own wing-to-wing tax reporting and tax accounting processes including forecasting, tax provision, tax accounting, compliance and settlement.

  • Manage direct tax compliance including preparation and filing of country tax returns for all applicable legal entities and supporting audits.

  • Involved with policy interpretation, planning, preparation, filing and audit management of all Indirect Tax including Sales and Use, State and Local and Property tax.

  • Partner with global tax teams and local tax advisors to ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support complex Legal Entity Restructuring projects.

  • Provide support on transaction execution including commercial advice, tax technical analysis and policy interpretation.

  • Drive service, quality and timeliness of team objectives in line with functional policy constraints

  • Regularly advise management in the function and/or in the business and support decision making on high priority topics and clearly communicate impacts and decision points on complex topics.

  • Apply high levels of professional judgment required to evaluate outcomes.

  • Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders and able to offer constructive new solutions and recommendations to problems leveraging cross functional internal and external sources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in Tax management and compliance

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial systems / applications

  • Strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation

  • You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • You must be willing to work out of our office located in Mississauga, ON on a hybrid-basis

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge and experience in automation tools such as Alteryx and Power BI will be an asset
