Job Description Summary

The Senior Environmental Leader will serve as a key driver in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of GE HealthCare’s environmental programs. This role will work cross-functionally to support sites, organizations, and functions in complying with and integrating GE HealthCare’s environmental standards in alignment with internal requirements, external reporting, public commitments, and customer requests. While this role requires broad environmental expertise, the successful candidate must be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of biodiversity, climate, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends in environmental sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, strategic vision, and a track record of driving change to integrate environmental considerations into corporate strategy and operations. This role will provide technical assistance in other areas as defined by their expertise or as assigned and reports to the Environmental Programs Executive.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the expert to lead the development and implementation of comprehensive biodiversity strategy aligned with company ambition, regulatory requirements, and emerging best practices.

  • Develop processes, standard work and governance structures to deliver on internal and public environmental goals

  • Stay abreast of environmental regulations and emerging trends in environmental sustainability. Assist sites in compliance with relevant laws and regulations globally.

  • Serve as a change driver within the organization, advocating for the integration of environmental considerations into decision-making processes and corporate strategy.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate the company's environmental efforts internally and externally, fostering transparency and accountability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biodiversity considerations into various aspects of the company's operations, including procurement, product development, and land management.

  • Participate and lead compliance and framework audits and reviews necessary to meet company and local compliance requirements.

  • Drive improvement and track goals achievement through collection, analysis and communication of environmental goals and measurements

  • Develop and deliver technical and non-technical environmental training to a broad and diverse audience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; related environmental discipline

  • Significant and substantial experience overseeing the execution of environment or sustainability programs, with a focus on biodiversity.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Proven track record of driving change and integrating environmental considerations into corporate strategy and operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and lead multidisciplinary teams towards common goals.
